Godot
TRT 22 min, color, silent, 2010
A document of time, place and phenomenon, Godot is a recording of a (non) event through video. Anticipating a moment, the video camera is set up to capture a streetlight switching on at dusk. Offering a document of a fleeting, ephemeral reality, the video also aims to describe the way(s) events are recorded through a mediated process, and how the process of recording begins with desire.

Commissioned (After W.W.)
TRT 15 min, color, silent, 2010
Commissioned (After W.W.) is an exercise in futility, an exploration of portraiture, training, attempts to control nature, and sabotage. A rabbit is (repeatedly) placed on a wooden box, in order to ‘sit’ for a portrait. Against its nature, the animal eventually learns that it is expected to remain still on the pedestal. Responding to compositions by William Wegman with his dogs, issues of exploitation inherent in portraiture become apparent when a pose is applied/imposed/expected of an animal.
